Enterprise Applications
Hey there!
My brain is frazzled with all this information.
I’ve been a doing a bit of research into how business successfully implement
and support enterprise applications. Does it fail? Are there any successful
companies? What are their business models and strategy? I decided to look at
some companies I use in my daily life and here are my findings.
In 2002, Starbucks was experiencing fast growth and implemented Oracle ERP systems. This allowed store managers from different locations access data from different stores, various departments, customers, suppliers, prices, and sales and therefore be able to make better informed decisions. The ERP system had beneficial effects on Starbuck’s overall performance, reduce costs and organisational performance.
Whether you
drink coffee or not, Starbucks has made a name for itself through their
business strategy. They charge a premium price for their high-quality coffee.
They provide a “third place” experience that is separate from both wok and home
while still providing an inviting environment.
Spotify
Spotify uses client relationship management (CRM) systems known as Salesforce to communicate with their customers. It manages their interactions with current and future customers. The goal of CRM is to improve business and customer relationships to expand the business which salesforce are targeting the younger generation with 65% of millennials use it as their top streaming app. Salesforce also offer customers the ability to create their own playlist to listen to during “meaningful moments” enhancing the customer experience.
Spotify adopts a ‘freemium business model’ which encourage free users to switch to premium subscriptions. Additionally, Spotify adopts their business strategy to keep up with consumers demands, now listeners with a premium subscription can access over 150,000 audiobooks.
Burger King
Burger King
uses SAP systems to obtain data from its supply chains, manage labour and
logistic costs, make better decisions by viewing the analysis of the business performance
and improving relationships with suppliers.
Burger king
is a franchise business model and is well known on a global scale, enabling
independent franchisees to run their own restaurants.
I’ve said
it before and I'll say it again,
Thanks for
keeping me company 😊
