Goodbye....

Hey there! I guess I finish where I started…72 days ago I sat here in Costa with my head in my hands wondering how the heck I am to write a blog. Here I am 10 weeks later, and I would like to say I’ve made progress and learnt something new! Speaking of progress, this morning myself and some friends held a workshop on big data and business intelligence (not something I thought I would ever do and even more, enjoy). Go have a look at their blogs if that is something that interests you:  Rachael's Digital Economy Blogs  ,  Hazel's Digital Times  and  Rachel's Digital Economy Blogs  . I’m not sure if you remember, but I actually done a blog post on this a few weeks ago, feel free to read if you haven't already!  Big Data Blog  & if that doesn't work: https://laurlogsdigitaleconomy.blogspot.com/2023/10/big-data.html It was interesting to see the research I did for my blog, as well as the material I learnt in class and applying that to a real-li...

Blog Engagement!!!

Hello again!

I’m back with a second blog this week. I have been reviewing my previous blogs and have noticed something! Engagement, more so lack of.

How can I genuinely increase my blog engagement? Obvious answer promoting it. Sharing content via online platforms and emails, in addition to personal and blog social media accounts. In my opinion social media is the greatest solution as that’s where you will find your people.

This leads me to my next point: selecting the appropriate target audience. More importantly, who do you want to be your audience? You must meet them where they are on their preferred platform. It is essential to understand you audience in order to communicate effectively.

Communication doesn’t have to mean words alone. Have fun with it! It becomes more interactive and engaging for the reader when using visual materials like images and videos are used. Who would actually want to read text all the time?

Learn to prioritise, more specifically prioritise quality over quantity. Although we’ve heard it a lot, it is very true. One blog with better quality, more insightful, and meaningful content is better than ten mediocre blogs.

Engagement comes from more than just you. You need persuade your readers to respond. Ask them to follow, like and share. This will make a big difference spreading the word about your blog…there’s only so much you can do alone.

Get your notebook, as I’ve saved the most crucial piece of advice for last and that is (drumroll please šŸ„šŸ’„šŸŽ‰) consistency. I believe this is the most important step to maximise success. Creating a consistent schedule helps forming the habit. Remember it takes 21 days to make or break a habit!

Just a gentle reminder, these things take time but be patient. “Success doesn’t happen overnight”.
