Goodbye....

Hey there! I guess I finish where I started…72 days ago I sat here in Costa with my head in my hands wondering how the heck I am to write a blog. Here I am 10 weeks later, and I would like to say I’ve made progress and learnt something new! Speaking of progress, this morning myself and some friends held a workshop on big data and business intelligence (not something I thought I would ever do and even more, enjoy). Go have a look at their blogs if that is something that interests you:  Rachael's Digital Economy Blogs  ,  Hazel's Digital Times  and  Rachel's Digital Economy Blogs  . What Ireland has to offer MNC's?

Hey there!

Guess who’s back! Why multinationals corporations are migrating to Ireland are thoughts pondering my mind.

Multinational corporations find Ireland to be a desirable location for business establishment for a number of reasons…the main being the Irish ☘️

1.    Ireland is the number one choice for US Technology companies when it comes to foreign direct investment with 9 out of the top 10 worldwide software companies located in Ireland.

2.    The big factor for multinationals is tax efficiency, with corporation tax at 12.5%, whereas it is 21% in the US. VAT is 23% for product and services, and sales made to customers outside the European union may get VAT exempt.

3.    Ireland is a supportive environment for startups. Dublin has huge entrepreneurial culture and access to venture capital.

4.    Ireland is actively promoting the formation of new businesses due to the country's strong entrepreneurial activity.  It takes approximately 2 weeks to form a company in Ireland, with the average time of 10-14 days for the Companies Registration Offices to process applications.

5.   Having well-established tech multinationals is tempting for other high growth enterprises intending to relocate.

6.  Increased number tech enterprises have led to the creation of more educated and talented workers and 43% of Ireland population has attended third level education.

7.   Ireland’s population has the youngest employees in the EU, with 50% under the age of 35.

8.  Ireland has loads of people immigrating from abroad, meaning employees are fluent in more than one language.

9. There has been a lot of progress in Ireland’s diversity and inclusion, having wide profile of employees, mixed age, gender, LGBTQ+, nationality, race, and people with disabilities.

10. Both in terms of work and personal life, Dublin offers a higher quality of life, with 30% of the country’s workforce is based in Dublin.

Thanks for keeping me company,

Laura
